Lord,
Thank you for Psalm 56. I remember a time when I prayed this prayer daily – feeling as though those around me were truly out to get me. Though, this was not entirely accurate. The problems I was facing were nothing compared to those of David.
This encourages me more! My problems are nowhere near as serious as David’s. Yet, I serve the same God! If he can intervene in David’s life, surely he can intervene in mine!
Father, help me to remember how powerful you truly are. Help me to remember you are my shelter. You are the keeper of my heart and the refresher of my soul. When I face troubles let me know lean on my flesh, but lean on the power of your spirit.
Like David, I know I will continue to make mistakes, but let it be said that I am a man after your own heart. I submit to your will, Lord.
