Father, let us hear your voice clearly today over the noisy tumult and the wild, restless sea that the days of our life so easily become.  We plead, our heavenly Father, that in the midst of the fray, that you would keep us from the worship of the world’s storehouse of vain distractions and from the attraction of any idol that would separate us from you.  Whether the hours of this day bring hours of toil or hours of ease, help us to recognize and cling to your mercies that are new and sufficient every day, as we give in turn to your obedience, serving and loving you with gratitude, for you are the best of all!  So be it!
