Lord,
Thank you for allowing us to read the stories of these men. You are ever-lasting, the God of Jacob and Joseph. Just as You were faithful to Jacob and Joseph, you are faithful to me. Thank you for being our Provider as you were for the Israelites. It was not Pharaoh who provided land and food for Joseph’s family, but You. Please open my eyes to recognize all the ways You provide for me, even when it is through the hand of another.
Please teach me to walk in faithfulness as Joseph did. Please help me to be a steadfast and trusted person, doing right for the people in my spheres of influence as Joseph did for the people in his life.
When fear and doubt creep in as they did for Joseph’s brothers, please help me to turn to You with those fears, and trust You to make a way through. When, like Joseph, I am faced with betrayal, failed plans, or heartache, please help me to remember Joseph’s life, and help me to trust that You will work it out for my good.
Thank you for guiding me and providing for me. As Jacob said, you are my Great Shepherd for all the days of my life. I love you.
