Scripture
Ezekiel Chapter 2 v.5 says “whether they listen or fail to listen they will know that a prophet has been among them.” Sometimes when we are tasked with telling the truth about the Lord, it can be difficult. The Lord had been trying to tell people for a long time about what was truly happening around them. He had called prophets to tell the people about their sin and need for HIM, but the people weren’t interested. So the Lord told Ezekiel his job was to tell them the Lord’s words and then if they listen or don’t listen, they will know that a prophet had spoken, which really meant that one way or another they will know they heard the truth even though they don’t accept it. Sometimes I think about this when it comes to sharing my faith. I can really worry about a lot of things. Should I say something….is it the right time…. what if they aren’t interested…. how will I feel if they make fun of me? I have had all these and dozens of other questions hit me at various times. Yet the truth is this: if we are sharing truth and what we know of God, then it has impact. Maybe no one falls upon their knees and cries out to God…maybe they do. Still when we share the Word, our testimony, or anything else that God impresses upon us to share—it’s only our job to simply share. I know that sounds easy but honestly, it’s not easy for me and I fail at it a lot of times…. maybe even most of the time. Still, this verse rings true. Whether people listen or people don’t listen, that is not up to us. Certainly, we should not scream at people nor do we pronounce judgement upon them. However, we need remember our task is to simply tell them whatever God tells us to say because no one can follow a God they know nothing about. So, we tell them what we can about God; no matter rather they accept it or not, they will know truth was among them if we are sharing in love.
Prayer
HONOR GOD
John 3:16 NIV
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
God has given us new life in Christ. Take a moment and thank Him for this incredible gift!
ASK GOD
John 3:21 NIV
But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.
Living by truth brings light and sight. Ask God to give you a heart for His truth. What do you need to confess to Him? Where do you need His help?
SUBMIT TO GOD
John 3:18 NIV
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
Submit your heart to God today and live free of condemnation!
