Father, we thank you today for our church’s staff ministers, for their faithfulness to your call, and for all that they do to to lead us in worship; all that they do to increase our growth and lead us to draw nearer in our relationship with you; and all that they do to lead your church in service to our community as we work to fulfill your body’s mission of reaching others with the good news of your mercy, grace, and hope.  We pray for our ministers and their families, asking you to give us sensitivity to their needs as they do their necessary work of study and preparation.  With that spiritual sensitivity, we ask you to equip us with enthusiasm for performing the mundane but important acts of servanthood, those acts of “waiting on tables” of our fellow church members as we increase in fellowship.  By serving, may we empower our ministers by giving them time and freedom to concentrate on their ministry of the word to your church.
