Jesus,
Everything seems so clear in retrospect. I read scripture in light of my own understanding and imagine myself more clever than the disciples. What a poorly ascertained assumption! They walked with you in the flesh and still missed so many of the rich concepts you preached. They saw your miracles with their own eyes and still found themselves in doubt and confusion.
Lord help me learn from the men and women who walked with you and more importantly, never assume I know it all. I could read your Word a million times and still find more of your character and more of your love in those pages. I pray you’ll reveal yourself more every time I fill my heart with your gospel. I pray I won’t miss the beauty of your lessons and will come to seek you more fully with each day.
