Heavenly Father, thank you for the story of Zacchaeus! Help us to understand the simple lessons from this rich story and to apply those lessons to our living this day. First, help us to equate a lack of spiritual stature to Zacchaeus’ lack physical stature. In seasons and situations when we are not “tall enough” in our spirit to clearly see your will and understand your intentions for our living, give us the same impulse that caused Zacchaeus to climb the tree with a longing to see you. Then help us to rise to the spiritual plane where can see you plainly as we encounter you face to face as you reveal to us with clarity an understanding of our need and the response that you desire from us. Show us and convict us if we need conviction of wrong, Father. Shed light on our shortcomings and show us the way into your light, because we long for our lives to rest in your center. We love you, Jesus! Amen.
