Father,
Teach me to obey you! When your voice and your Word show me the direction I ought to go, I’ll put away my own understanding follow you. So often, when I find myself broken and torn down, I look back and remember where I fell away from your calling.
You don’t leave us wandering or wondering what we should do with our time and our life. Instead, you tell us our heart is deceptive and our own understanding is nothing compared to your great wisdom! I may not understand the reasons behind your Commandments or the purpose behind your direction, but who am I to question my own creator? Is there any sense in the clay questioning the potter’s hands? No.
If you choose to show me the fruit of your calling, I’ll be honored and amazed! But even if I follow you in the purity of obedience with nothing else, I’ll choose to do so with gratitude and joy; knowing you, have a greater purpose in mind!
