Our Father, thank you for giving Jeremiah the rich symbolism of the potter and the clay.  As the heavenly potter and creator whose breath fills our beings, we pray that you would subdue our self-centered wills, helping us to yield to your mastery and control.  Fashion us, we pray, into useful vessels fit for your service, attractive vessels fit for your glory, and sturdy vessels that will keep safe and preserve the treasures of your kingdom as we strive to live before others in a manner that reflects your glory.  And just as you breathed life into Adam’s dusty form in the glorious act of creation, breath into our dusty forms your Holy Spirit, renewing us and making us into vessels pure, worthy of your grace, and creating within us the capacity to love others as you love us.  This we pray to your glory!  Amen.
