Father God, we thank you that, just as you did not reject the Israelites, you have not rejected us. In the midst of trials and tribulations, we can be confident that you have chosen us in Christ to be holy and blameless before you. Even when it looks like trouble has surrounded us, we know that you are working all things together for your glory and our good.
Jesus, we thank you because you are the reason for this confidence. Our right standing with the father is not due to our own merit, but is only accomplished through your perfect sacrifice. You are the Messiah that Isaiah speaks of in his prophecy. You are the chosen one who brings justice to the nations. You were faithful and obedient, even to death. You are our redeemer. You deserve every breath in our lungs and every praise from our lips. There is no way to thank you enough for who you are and what you have done.
Holy Spirit, we ask that you teach us more and more everyday how to walk like Jesus. Where we have become blind to your movement in our lives as the Israelites were blind to the goodness of the Father in their return from exile, we ask that you remind us of His faithfulness. We ask that you fill us with gratitude and thanksgiving in order that we may worship you with a pure heart. We ask these things in the name of Jesus, amen.
