Father, remind me to be slow to speak and quick to listen. Teach me that wisdom is found in humbly coming before you, listening to your voice, and trusting in your word. Thank you for the gracious gifts you have given me and the consistent provision that has been present all my life. I long to be a good steward of the resources you have blessed me with and ask for a heart of generosity to turn those blessings into blessings for others. Place a deep desire in me to help people in need rather than live for my own comforts. I ask you for wisdom in every area of my life. You tell us in the Scriptures that all we have to do is ask for this and you will generously provide it. Keep me from confusing the wisdom of the world with wisdom that comes from you. Jesus inaugurated a kingdom that stands in distinction to the culture around us. Show me what it is like to live according to its standards and not for my own selfish gain. I know that true wisdom is found in the pursuit of my relationship with you. Thank you, Lord, for the precious gift of your son, Jesus, that paves the way for me to be able to experience this grace and love. I long to grow in my love for you more and more, every day, for the rest of my life. Help me to pursue you by the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
