Lord,
There’s so much to praise and exalt you with in these psalms! I love how Psalm 107 gives example after example of how you have redeemed Your people throughout the Old Testament. I find so many parallels to my life. You have saved me from financial hardship, from difficult circumstances, you have calmed storms in my life…. The list goes on and on. Far too often, I don’t share my testimony or let others know all the ways you have redeemed and saved me. Please forgive me! Please give me courage to speak out as the psalmist says!
I love the humanity that David writes with. In the later chapters, it seems like he knows that You are going to save him, just like in the last Psalm, but yet, a little fear still comes through. However, David ended his prayers in confidence rather than in doubt. Lord, let me bring my fears back to you rather than leave them stewing in my mind.
These chapters end with beautiful expressions of praise. Let me remember the psalmist’s praises today: “How gracious and merciful is our Lord! All he does is just and good, and all his commandments are trustworthy. They are forever true, to be obeyed faithfully and with integrity. He has paid a full ransom for his people. He has guaranteed his covenant with them forever. What a holy, awe-inspiring name he has!”
Amen.
