Father,
I can’t help but empathize with Saul as he follows his own plans and denies Your words. James 4:14 says “Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.” My life on this earth is just a vapor and You are eternal! Yet I convince myself of my own wisdom and doubt the direction You’ve placed in my life. Father, my greatest joy is being a part of the glorious plan You have set for Your kingdom and I am thankful for every small part You allow me to participate in. Because of this, I will lean on You alone even in my own doubt or pride. Your ways are beyond my understanding and I trust You have a plan for Your ultimate good.
Thank You for showing me Your commands and speaking to me when I need direction. Lord, I am listening and I will follow Your voice.
