Worship
Scripture
I long for the presence of God. I long to be at His feet, in His glory, worshiping His Holy name! I long for Heaven. And the word tells us to pray for Heaven on earth!
Jesus prays in Matthew 6:9-10 “This, then, is how you should pray: “ ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
God’s will is perfect and good and I believe I’ve seen it in my own life! I’ve also seen darkness prevail, and my enemies win. When evil wins, I wonder where my “good” God is in the midst of struggle, hate, and evil. I wonder why the “guilty men, whose own might is their god” (Habakkuk 1:11) succeed and lord over the weak while my God does nothing.
I ask the Lord the same questions I read in Habakkuk. And He answers me: “For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.” Habakkuk 2:3
God’s judgment will come but I cannot hasten it with my worries. Only He knows the time and place to judge the wicked and redeem the righteous. When God answers Habakkuk, he responds “Yet I will quietly wait for the day of trouble to come upon people who invade us” Habakkuk 3:16.
There is strength in trusting God’s timing. The things of this world will not be friendly to us who fear the Lord. We can pray for the Lord’s will on earth as it is in Heaven but sometimes that requires a long wait. We must not grow weary in the wait, but instead, encourage our faith in the One who has promised to bring us into everlasting life! The One we will worship in Heaven, in all His perfection.
When evil prevails, I’ll pray for God’s will to be done. And as I wait “I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer’s; he makes me tread on my high places”. Habakkuk 3:18-19
Prayer
HONOR GOD
Exodus 33:19
And the Lord said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”
Thank Him for being who He is. For being a merciful and compassionate God who has shown you grace.
ASK GOD
God is ready to give you the wisdom you need. Ask Him, specifically, for the wisdom you need right now.
SUBMIT TO GOD
John 5:39
“You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me”
God is the giver of life. Sometimes we have to submit our understanding, submit our pride, and humble ourselves to acquire a spiritual understanding
CLOSING PRAYER
God, you have chosen me. You have given me life and life abundantly. Help me steward the blessings that you have given me for my spiritual growth and the spiritual growth of those around me. In Jesus Name, Amen.
