Scripture
When I moved to the United States, I knew I had to build my life from all over again. I did not know anyone in Florida, despite that this was not the first time moving away from my friends and family to begin rebuilding in a different place. It was a little scary, not going to lie, but I had confidence from my previous experiences. I knew that God had been with me in the past, and I knew He would be faithful again to provide friends, family, and a church to belong.
In the story of Chronicles the Israelites are rebuilding after a time of exile, and they want to know if God will be faithful. The genealogies we are reading today are the testaments of God’s faithfulness to them. The Israelites search for a direct line of descendants that will validate the reconstruction of the Israelite society and worship based on descendants.
Today, we look back and ask the same question: Will God be faithful? The difference is we search for the answers in different places. We don’t ask if we have a direct genealogical connection to our great great grandparents. We do search for experiences, outcomes, and signs that will validate that God has been faithful and encourage us for the future. I don’t know what you might be going through today, but I know God has been faithful in your life. Maybe you’re just looking at the wrong things. Reflect on God’s faithfulness for sending His son. Even if you feel God has not been faithful in this life, you can have faith that He has been faithful past this life, by conquering death through Jesus and giving us life everlasting.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

HONOR GOD
Exodus 33:14
And He said, “My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest.”
The distinguishing mark for us as God’s chosen people, is that His presence is with us. Consider the impact that the creator of the universe is our companion.

CLOSING PRAYER
Praise God I am not desperately trying to measure up to an impossible state of perfection. Instead, I am surrendered to You Lord, and am covered by Your grace. Lord, don’t stop reminding me of the blessing of your sacrifice. I am thankful for the access I have to Your presence each and every moment no matter the state of my “cleanliness.” In Jesus Name, Amen.
