that I might not sin against you.

Joshua 1:8
8 Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

4 But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say,
‘People do not live by bread alone,
but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.
Devotion
I love hanging out with my son. At the time of this writing he’s four years old and loves trips with Dad to the department store. He tells Mommy, “Daddy and I can build it,” or “Daddy and I can fix it.”
Arrggh. Arrggh. Arrggh.
Recently, he’s started this compulsion where we walk down the aisles and he becomes passionately convinced that he needs random objects on shelves (I think he learned it from Target runs with his mom). He’ll reach out his hand and say, “I need this! Daddy, I need that! Ooohhh, I need this.” When I say he’s passionately convinced, I mean it. Screaming, yelling, he has to have it. The only way around it is bribery with Reese’s at checkout. Even then, when we get into the truck all I hear about on the drive home is, “Daddy, I need those tools.”
In our walk with Christ, the Bible contains all the tools we need.
Paul tells Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

And on and on.
If you read that list and thought to yourself, even for a moment, “I need those tools in my life!” They’re yours — hidden treasures in the Bible to transform your life. Joshua 1:8 promises if you, “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”
My prayer for you is that you’d become passionately convinced that you can’t live without the LIFE found in God’s word. You have to have it. It fuels you. Builds you. Transforms you.
Read over the list again. There’s more. So much more. Jesus declares in Matthew 4:4, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
Feed yourself.
